Dane Theatre - Denmark, SC

The Dane Theatre, built in 1947 and closed in 1979, was completely restored by the City of Denmark. The theater is being used as a cultural center by the city and is available to groups and organizations for special events.

The Dane Theatre originally had 720 seats, including those on the ground level and in the balcony. The restoration and addition of a performance stage left a capacity of 454 seats.

The theater won the 1997 Preservation Honor Award from The Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation, and the 1997 Citation for Community Commitment by the South Carolina Downtown Development Association.
