| Three Charleston Area Theatres Close AMC Entertainment, Inc. announced that their multi-screen theaters at Citadel Mall and Northwoods Mall will close. Both theaters were purchased by AMC Entertainment, Inc. in 2002. Both theaters were built before the trend to Megaplex theaters. Neither theater has ever been significantly remodeled. |

Citadel
Mall 6 Opened: 1981 This theater may be replaced by a 16-screen megaplex by Southeast Cinema Entertainment, which recently acquired the site. They plan to reopen the current theater for a limited time. |

Northwoods
8 Closing date: April 13. 2008 This theater will be demolished to make way for a large Sportsman's Warehouse store. |

Movies
of Mount Pleasant Regal Entertainment Group announced that "Regal Mount Pleasant Stadium 12" will be converted into a Cinebarre theatre offering an expanded menu including fresh pizzas and burgers along with a wide selection of beer and wine. |
